Soccer Day + The End

Today is soccer day for me. Halfway through it rained heavily for the first time. The sky is crying but soon the rain stopped and we continued till noon.

When i got back, she told me to give up, which i did after thinking through the night. I didn't really know why. I couldn't breathe for a moment but soon i let out the last breath. It's heartache..it's painful i know and it's time to be strong again. Thanks to her for all the wonderful moments we had together. Thank You..

The history behind my burning passion

Ever wonder why my nick is so kiddy, flamekid?? I remember when i played online CS a few years back, other players would often make fun of my nick, saying it's so childish and stuffs and they thought i was a primary school kid. They were all wrong, never judge a person by his name, i'd say. Here's a story behind this nick.

Looking back to those days when i was in primary 6.........

me, "Eh, can help me donate or not??"
Jia Hui, "Can of cuz...why not i donate $2 to you and you donate $2 to me??"
me, "Sure..it's a deal!"

I made a new friend on the bus by the name of Jia Hui. We just received our donation cards today and we became each other's "first customer". I was being introduced to him by Fabian, my buddy during my primary school days. Fabian stayed quite close to me and that's the reason why we got to know each other and in fact, we didn't share the same class though. Jia Hui was his classmate from 6A3 then. Later that day, i found out that he stayed even closer to me(just a couple of blocks away) compared to Fabian. From then on, he joined the lew lian group named after our neighbourhood's name "Lew Lian Garden". I introduced him to the mates like Guang Long, Jeremy, my bro, and those whom i forgot to mention.

Soon he went to Holy Innocent's High School while i moved on to St Gabriel's Secondary School. Slowly the gang grew in numbers, some friends came and went away, one passed away, the rest kept close contact. Soccer, basketball and some childhood games like catching, police and thieves were our favourites.

Time flew and we graduated from secondary education and went into tertiary education. Surprisingly, we went to the same course after choosing it as our first choice. He went into class DBI0202 while i went into class DBI0211.

From then on, we indulged ourselves in several hot games like CS, starcraft, warcraft and many other games. He thought of a nick, hydrokid, which sounded so cool. I then thought of a nick that was closely related but at the other extreme though, flamekid(which wasn't as cool as hydrokid). We were so close that even in the cyber world, we chose an alias that's closely linked. From online gaming to LAN gaming at gaming cafes, or even LAN gaming in school(We actually set up Need For Speed Underground 2 and CS during FYPJ..SHH!) , people thought we were brothers and truly we were really like blood brothers.




Yes, this is now i got my nick. Kind of miss the old school days where we could have fun and not think about other things. Now everyone in the lew lian group moved on in life, some went to NS, some graduated and MIA, some moved overseas, i guess that's life huh?

So from that day when i got my nick, even till now, i found myself slowly being moulded into the cyber character, burning with passion. It's either i do it to the best, or i don't do it at all.

My gaming experience played a very important part in building up my personality. I can still recall how i went from a CS noob to a CS not-so-noob to a CS not-a-noob-anymore, and how i got from 0 frags-51 deaths to 64 frags-2 deaths playing with the same bunch of people. It took me some time before getting to that stage and i can't deny there were many other better players out there. It's all about self-improvement i should say.

Passion is all i have when i do almost everything. Learning how to place the white ball to the right position in a game of pool, learning how to kick a soccer ball properly and learning how to cook a good dish is all about skills but without passion, nothing is really possible.

That's why i live life setting realistic goals which sometimes a few will turn out not so realistic afterall.

Update

Not really in a very good mood to blog actually..but just for the sake of saving my memory in case my brain spins into ashes, i'll just dump whatever i've remembered in this space.

Let's start from last thursday, could not recall what i did that day but my record showed that i went back at 2000hr, ya..OT again, sigh.


Friday's a happy day for me cuz finally i could meet her after work after missing her for like..3 days?..ya..went Kims Cuisine for dinner cuz i heard it's nice. We shared butter crab, butter prawn with cereal and a plate of fried hokkien prawn mee. Sshiok! then we went to the arcade to shoot some monsters before accompanying her to Bishan to meet her friends but before that we bought the beard papa cream puff and i din't get to eat it. -.- Ya..met Rachie and Andy and the ladies went to get a gift for Peilin while Andy and I hopped around different shops, chatting. Later found out that he lives near me..hahah..Singapore is small la..ya..after the ladies finished their purchase, i sent her back. When i reached home, i realised that she still had some research to do, so i offered to help as much as i could but failed to do so because i wasn't really familiarised with the procedure, so i withdrew my help in case it backfired..haha..actually expected her to complete within a couple of hours but to my horror, she did not turn in until 1000hr!! i could imagine her tired face with a pair of panda-like eyes. poor thing..and her initial plan to the zoo with her aunt had been cancelled to cover up the sleep time that she had forsakened.


Saturday was a soccer day for me. This time we played at kovan's street soccer court instead of the Lorong Ong Lye field. Had a good tan on my skin though..haha..after that went with my bro and Junbin to the famous beef noodle stall nearby for lunch, it's Superb!
By this time, i thought she could have wokened up which she did. My sms went just in time. It's home sweet home from then on.


I woke up on sunday only to experience a stomache discomfort and my thought went wild, "Colon Cancer??????!!". hahhaha...over-sensitivity can really make u go crazy...The discomfort was on and off for the whole day and i felt terrible..it felt like a big stone rumbling in your stomache at times and my head was feeling abnormal that day as i felt another heavy stone lying at the back of my head. However, these symptoms subsided a little after i had a proper meal and replenished enough fluid. hahaahhaha..looks like some old-fashioned methods helps rather than popping pills..


Usual monday blue on monday but after work, i decided to go for a pre-dinner run for 1hr 15mins. I just ran blindly until it's time to go back..haha..ran till Payar Lebar, then 15 rounds the park, then back home. Below's the route i ran.



Din't really calculate the distance i ran cuz i just felt like running to spend my time worthily. ya..after the run i went back, washed up and watch the usual channel 8 drama.

Nothing much on Tuesday and Wednesday except for some arrangement with my colleages here at CrimsonLogic to go for a hike at Macritchie somewhere in July, if im not wrong it will be at the 9th..ya. other than that, it's work WORK and WORK!!! SIP has to be rolled out by July 1st and we haven't really finish with the debugging.. ARGH!! i think my head will roll...hahaha..Gunawan, let's jia you bah...oh ya! almost forget this..last nite after work, i went KTV with Johnny, Nick Toh, Nick Oo and DY. So long din't meet up with them..the singing session was Very fun!! Sang till midnight before taking bus back.

Today is a happy day because we'll be meeting up after work..yes, we've fixed the venue, somewhere near her place so that i can send her back. I can still recall..

my mum asked, "Are you coming back for dinner?"
I replied, "No..i will be meeting her for dinner."
She handed me double the allowance that i would get for the day. So sweet of her.. I love you mum!(even though fathers' day just passed, i treat them as equal as possible ok!) That night i filled my sling bag with some casual clothes and a pair of sneakers before turning in.

ya..so happy, excited, delighted, jump into outer space, jump into galaxy, jump into the mud and act like a pig, and all sorts of silly thing you could think of..just when i was in such good mood, it suddenly turned 360 degrees into the other extreme. She asked me whether we could meet tomorrow(Friday) because she wanted to meet her poly friends. Disappointment overwhelmed me. Sometimes i wonder what's on her mind. So last minute..initially i rejected her request but given a second thought, i felt that she missed her friends too, so i gave her the green light. I got so heated up because it's so last minute and partly because i missed her so much. It's been almost one week since we last met! It's also because if a last min miscommunication between my bro and i that cost our date a week ago and i don't really like this to ever happen again. Sigh..have to miss her for another 24hrs.. But after reading my friend's blog, i discovered that i wasn't in a very bad situation afterall compared to hers. Hey friend, you know who you are. Just want you to be strong and dun be too upset ok?? There may be ups and downs but as a friend, i will always be here to lend a ear. =D

ya..that's all..and i'm still missing her..better not to let this affect my work...else Leonard will kill me..hahaha...back to work.. V^^

I wanna jump into outer space

hahahahahaha...some of you might be wondering why i put this title. In case you don't know why, this sweet princess of mine used this phrase in her blog to express her delight and so i'm using it now to express mine too. Yup, went out with her yesterday after work but i'll leave the best part for the last. =D

Let's rewind to..monday..ya..I was being occupied with work, wOrK and LOTS of WORK to be done. SIP(Sales Incentive Plan) has got to be rolled out by end of this month and our work will be dued on Tuesday which was the next day for Leonard to carry on with the presentation to Kenneth, the VP of our Dept. Just as things went smoothly throughout the day and me, expecting my part to be completed before the clock ticked at 1830hr, the design tool which i was using gave me another headache which almost knocked me out with just one blow. So that day i stayed till 2330 to fix the problem and seriously not all were being fixed successfully. Took a cab back later. I lived to fight another EVERY OTHER day..

Oh ya..not forgetting Angel's birthday which was around the corner, din't actually plan any surprise though but i had something in mind then. Called my Gurl at 12 midnight and told her to pass the phone to Angel, then i sang her a birthday song with some mixture of fast and deep breaths as i was walking back after da baoing some food from a 24hr coffeeshop near my house. Happy Birthday Angel! Hope she likes it! haha..

Tuesday finally! Happy! Happy! Woke up as usual and did spent more time at the mirror waxing my hair to the most stylist level because i'd be meeting her later this evening. However, i missed the shuttle bus by 10 seconds!!!! When the bus left, i was just inches to it!!! STUPID BUS DRIVER!!!! IT'S NOT EVEN 0830 yet!! He drove off at 0827 and that cost me another 80¢ for i had to take the harbourfront shuttle bus instead. FYI, my journey there is free because i was still on train concession.

I shall not talk about my work cuz it's a lil lot boring. Met her at Orchard, went shopping and got myself a Samuel and Kevin Polo-Tee which she chose including 3 pairs of ankle socks. After that we had our dinner at Marche. So Shiok!! The seafood taste so nice!!!!!! Oysters, prawns, sting ray, etc! After dinner we went shopping again and she got herself 2 tops, a necklace and a pair of earring while i got myself a wrist cuff. Then sent her back before heading home by train. So happy that i wanna jump into outer space!!!! wahahahaha!

Gotta get back to work now! Leonard will be presentating to Jagdip soon. Jia You Dexter!!!

The Match

Hey peeps, i'm back for more updates. Let's start from yesterday, usual light soccer training in the morning, and then in the afternoon, went to my workplace to finish up some integration and testings with Gunawan. Initially wanted to go Clementi for dinner but din't cuz very sianz, so i went home for dinner instead. yup..that's all on a boring Saturday.

Today is our match day, just as confident as the other members, i was hoping we could win. However, with greater confidence, we got greater disappointment. We lose 3-1, so sad. I guess what we needed was just a breakthrough, jia you! The match lasted from 5 to 7, had our shower there before we ate our dinner at some nearby chicken rice stall. We headed home after that.

Burn midnight oil = burning your fats!

I've just realised i lost 2kg within the span of 48hrs and that's not a very good news cuz the product changed from a man to a bear, a panda. So people out there, if you wanna lose weight, this is never a good solution so dun try this at home =D.

Well last night i dun need to do transcripting as i've already finish my tasks there. Darling needed a helping hand for transcript and translation on the remaining tapes and so i recommended my bro to her and she herself got her best friend to help too. I was there again last night to fulfil my full-time job, which i will not elaborate further..haha..Well basically, my volunteery tasks included seeing over their transcripting and translation process. Helped Angel did some trnascripting for a couple of times and did some correction on my bro's part and of course along the way i did slept for several hours which were hardly enough for a healthy being.

This morning, we went for breakfast somewhere nearby before heading home to wash-up after which i set for my workplace. Darling had her fav Half-boiled egg which made my blood boiled a lil seeing how she unhealthily she ate. However, it didn't really matter afterall when i witnessed how she enjoyed the food. For me, i took economical breakfast..

Still tired..

Mission Accomplished.

Finally the battle was over. And i'm now seated at my workplace again, overwhelmed by lack of sleep. Let's backtrack a little..

Met up with her and da bao dinner to her workplace before devouring up the food with the goal in mind: "Get the job done ASAP!". Yup..got to know some of her colleagues and received some tasks on what i was gonna expect, 1 tape, 26mins of videos to be TRANSCRIPTED and amongst it, 8mins were to be done using chinese software, the rest english. I immediately gave a chuckle upon receiving the task and went, "25mins only arh?" which i soon regretted so much.

Spent about 5 hours doing the 8 minute video, an interview with a chinese dude with strong Chee Na ascent. Damn, couldn't really comprehend what he was actually talking about and the only thing i could do was to roughly guess the closest vocab and dump it all in.

Din't really know when i started on the second tape but what i knew was that it was already a hell-hole for me on the previous tape. Then came another one and this time, strong mix of English and Russian ascent. This time round was a little better compared to the previous one especially when i did not get to type it out in Chinese characters.

When it's done, it's almost near sunrise and so we hired a cab and went straight to my place. Yup, took a short nap before waking up to prepare her fav half-boiled egg(although not very nicely done but hope she) and some fish porridge cooked by my granny before sending her back by cab, after which i headed straight to my workplace.

Mission accomplished! but damn tired..panda eyes @.@...

Road to distinction for Chinese language.

How many times do you hear people improve their grades tremendously AFTER their academic years? I'm the mad fellow.. As i'm gonna improve my chinese language from C6 to A1.. Many people are starting to jeer at me now, but before you do that, please look at my result slip first. Although the O's already writtened in my history record, i'm still positive in re-writing the present history of my current chinese language because of tonight's challenge.

Darling will be having night shift later tonight and it's TRANSCRIPTING which she hates. She'll be doing the english part and me doing the mandarin part and i can feel the challenge right now. It isn't that bad afterall knowing that Han Yu Pin Yin is the only strength i possess in Chinese language subject. Well at least i'm being paid for what i will be doing but that's not what makes me agree to help her firm. It's her presense and her plea that got me into action. And the next greatest challenge that i thought of is the amount of sleep time i will forsake. No matter what, i feel it's still worth it at least knowing that this will take away some of her burden and adds a smile on her face, i'm contented.

More updates!

Let's backtrack to last friday. Met up with my princess @ Douby Ghaut then together, we joined the FYPJ gang for dinner. Initially i was very nervous cuz i wasn't really sure if she mixes well with the bunch but it turned out that she could be a PR manager of some big firms..haha..It's been quite some time since the group last met up. Yeah, enjoyed the dinner and stuffs. After dinner Darling got tired so i sent her back.

As usual, soccer training in the morning, took a good nap after that. In the midst of my very sweet dream, someone came in and brought me out, the culprit was Li Guang. Actually it's only his SMS that woke me up. Ya..He informed me about Ivan's 21st birthday party on that day and i went "OMG!" cuz i would be accompanying my sweetheart during her night shift later that night.

Met up with Li Guang and Benny in Orchard and we went to hunt for a gift for Ivan. We had no idea what to get for him then, so we toured the whole of Orchard in hope to find a suitable one but to no avail. Then i got really fed-up so i called Ivan and asked what he wanted and he told me to get a Vodka Absolute. So we went to get it from Paragon supermart. Although that din't make a good gift, it's the heart that count la..among the class of 20 people, less than 10 went leh...can imagine the absense rate..Ya.. the party was indeed very crowded...lots of people, mostly his relatives and friends..his primary sch or sec sch friends were more than the number of people who turned out from Class DBI0211. What a disappointment.. Ya..the food was great and we had a couple of glasses of red wine, played poker cards for a while before ending with the cake-cutting ceremony after which we left for home. I went home and got changed before heading for darling's workplace where we stayed till sunrise. It's been very hard on her for she had to endure the odd working schedule and everytime i think of this, my heart aches a lil..

Sunday was my rest day. Got back home at 7+ in the morn, had a quick wash-up and jumped into bed where i slept till noon. Not much happenings till late afternoon when i met up with my gurl and her friends in orchard for a game of pool and then dinner at Newton Circus. Really enjoyed the dinner but really too bad din't get to eat those BBQed BIG prawns, my baby was setting her eyes on it everytime the uncle sped past us to deliver it to other tables. Maybe we should try that the next time we go there.

Yup..that's all..have to get back to work le..ciaoz!
